"A.L.I.Z.E." is a visual novel embedded in a sculpture, allowing viewers to physically approach the work, interact through touch-based choices, and engage with a chatbot in a simulated intimate relationship. Originating from Weizenbaum’s 1968 chatbot ELIZA, which inspired anthropomorphic projection through the "ELIZA effect," the work transforms ELIZA into a ghost within a reconstructed A.L.I.Z.E. Through three personas and randomised responses, it explores the instability between authenticity and artificiality in AI language. When conversations remain permanently online without resolution, how might the subject transform?
「A.L.I.Z.E.」 A.L.I.Z.E.
